Central Park
Not sure of the name of this shell- perhaps a New Yorker can identify - I was in mid Central Park and really felt like an artist, sat on the bench and really studied and sketched, the light was from behind the shell so I had to work with that (9am). Groups came and went as I sketched, overall it was all mine. By now my legs were killing me and this was quiet and so lovely I had to sit and try to capture it.
The perspective is off but I learn so much by attempting these difficult subjects. What a glorious day to wander the park which is simply Fabulous. Wonder if there are any apartments near by for rent !

WOWEE Sandy!! These are just marvelous travle sketches and great comentary! You are creating an awesome travel book here.
Sandy,
What fun for me to see sketches of my home town! Great job! The structure in Central Park is just referred to as the "Bandshell" - there is usually a large group of rollerbladers circling around on the plaza in front of it. I'll check my park map and let you know if there is a more official name.
I checked my official Central Park Conservancy map and it is called the Naumberg Bandshell.
This is a great sketch! Brings back memories. I love CP, too. In that huge city, it's like an oasis. I'm sure if you could find an appartment, the rent would be an arm and a leg! lol! I really like your travel sketches. You're creating lots a wonderful memories.
