With Memorial Day right around the corner I thought of cemetery stones - they count as rocks don't they? My town was established in 1639 so there are some very old graveyards near - I did gravestone rubbings years ago, some stones are extremely graphic and detailed though old and weathered. I only had 15 minutes to work on this and it needed more thought and preparation - Perhaps I will get time to rework it.

This is a wonderful sketch, Sandy. The cemetery looks peaceful with all the greeneries surrounding it. I admit this is the first time I’ve heard about gravestone rubbing. Do you still have them and perhaps post them as well?

FANTASTIC, SANDY!! And yes, rocks, indeed!! Love the work you did on the foliage!
Sandy, I really love this sketch! It looks so peaceful and calm. I saw a beautiful old graveyard I wanted to draw the other day, but I felt sheepish about the subject matter. Now you have inspired me!
Indeed these qualify as rocks. Cemeteries are such peaceful places and you really conveyed that image! wonderful job.
Rocks for sure and lovely! I just took a few photos of the rocks of the Temple of Dendur since the weather means my rocks will be indoors!
Great job...funny thats the only kind of rock that i could think of so far that comes within my daily schedule...its too sandy around here for rocks...but we have cemetaries...theres an old one right by my school
This is lovely. Not only the rocks are great, but you did a fantastic job with the trees.
Wonderful colors and composition! It's beautiful. Oh, rocks = stones.
OH! I love this I love this I LOVE this! I just love cemeteries and you did this one just beautifully. :) :)
This is a beautiful sketch! What is it about cemeteries that draw us to them? I had thought of doing a gravestone for this challenge when I get to it. I'm glad to see someone did it. You are right about how detailed the markers can be. I've been thru many cemeteries with my brother while he was researching our family's history and I was so taken with the head stones and what was carved into them.
I agree, you did great in capturing the peace here. I also love the trees, it surrounds the cemetry, giving it a privacy...I like that.

I am admiring the freshness of the watercolor. This sketch draws us into the setting. You have made us WANT to go there...go figure huh? I love all your stuff!
Wonderful sketch, Sandy! This cemetery looks like such a beautiful and peaceful place.
What a great idea for the EDM challenge. I love this! It's very creative and nice. Good trees too.
