My newest orchid is blooming profusely - the flowers are pale lime green with sprinkles of orange- pink. It's absolutely gorgeous. I cannot paint flowers to my satisfaction, but I had to try to record this lovely specimen.
I also tried to shake up my overall composition with some checkerboard here - I had already sketched the neat little lotion bottles we picked up at the hotel in
Boston.
Let me know what you think and critique/suggestions are Always Welcome.

OH i just LOVE how you're doing these journal pages!! LOVE the orchid and the background is so COOL!!!! Grand job!
I think you've shown alot of personal observations in the flower and it appears beautiful and lively--- it's great to see the flat backed bottles--those would fascinate me to discover...
you're right, the checks add interest and help pull things together
Gorgeous! Your orchid is beautiful (ooh -- green AND pink?) and I like the background. It IS fun!
Lovely page. I don't think I knew you had orchids. Did you ever read Susan Orleans' wonderful book about Orchid collectors called The Orchid Thief?
