Ok, this winter we had mice and chipmunks making their way into the house. That problem has been solved, Next we had insect infestation on one wall - that is being exterminated, now we had a bat flying about our cathedral family room as we relaxed for the evening. What's next??
Thankfully the bat obliged and exited the open door out ~ rather than heading into the main section of the house. If snakes are next I am moving!!!!

Sandy...

That is so funny, because just this weekend I took a picture of a bat on my Mother-in-law's house. I was planning on painting it for the my blog. To top that off, the same day, same house, my kids were playing with a snake...Again, I took pictures to use as a reference for painting..LOL.

Question now is...Will I look like a complete copy-cat if I do it now?...LOL Tell you what, when I do it, I will dedicate them to you :-).

oooh - I can imagine how you feel! But you got some wonderful work out of the experience. We haven't had a bat in the house, but they do swoop down over the pool all summer.

Oh wonderful, bats! I remember as a child, me and my friends would chase them early evenings with tennis raquets. Not that we succeeded, but it was exhilirating, with them swooshing so close over our heads! These look just like those ones we've chased, I should come over with my raquet! Great post!

That's so funny! I love bats and I think they're supposed to be really good for the environment too. I'm glad he took off without need extermination. I hope the snakes stay away but I'm glad you got a chance to draw the bat. Great drawing!

Wildlife just loves your house! Funny, when we were looking at houses to buy, one had been empty for a quite awhile. When we came in there was a 6 foot black snake stretched out on the kitchen floor. He saw us and went slitering behind the fridge. I was amused as was my husband since we've both had lots of experience with snakes. But, the real estate agent was very upset. Bet the house had no mice, tho! Your house sure gives you lots of ideas for drawing.
