Big Boot/EDM #132

I simply love LL Bean (Freeport Maine) . Not so much for the style of clothing although I own many items, but for the memories of camping on the shore nearby and heading into 'beans' when ever it rained or we were near insanity -Thank God it IS OPEN 24 hours a day 7 days a week!!! And they stand by their products 1,000% No Questions Asked.
I actually returned a jacket Years after purchase because it was too noisy (I kid you not) and they give a full refund with no receipt or Nuttin.
Any way I digress - the stores are fabulous, even the hunting and fishing store is fascinating. Here I am standing next to the original Giant Bean Gum boot that started the LLBean legend and this celebrated their 95 anniversary. The sole is called a Gum Chain Tread SOOOOOO I am entering this as EDM #132 "Chain". (OK give a girl a break, I am on vacation and suffering with technology dilemmas!

Good to see something from you Sandy
I've heard much about LL Bean from American friends in Frnce who also loves them!
Great sketches you posted...I love the inn, it looks lovely and serene and youve captured it's atmosphere beautifully.

As always, I love your Maine sketches-they bring back such fond memories. I am always a LL Bean lover and many of my things are LLB. I even have a LLB credit card :)

I know you are having a great time.

I've been wondering where you were!! LOVELY LOVELY sketches!! I love the house -- but the LL Bean (I was there over 25 years ago!!) is just captivating ... so reminescent of that part of the US!!! They're terrific, Sandy!

Your last few sketches have been absolutely breathtaking. I love the one in front of LL Bean and I also love the one of the house/inn. But my favorite, oddly enough, is the spray bottle. I love the story that goes along with it and truly believe that writing in art journals really makes them. I can also identify with your story very well, I love EMD and it has taught me so many things in such a limited time. Anyway, I'm rambling on, great work!

Absolutely wonderful sketches, Sandy - you get better all the time! Wonderful tribute to LL Bean, too. Customer service like that just doesn't exist over here in France...

My husband has a jacket that rubs noisily as we walk along - I hate it but he can't understand my distress. This is the first time I've heard of anyone else disliking the noise of clothing.

A wonderful sketch, Sandy! -I have been there, in 1998 (I mean, the L.L.Bean shop). I absolutely loved it. I bought a kind of boots I still own.

I loved the sketch of the LLBean boot. I work in communications here at LLBean and would love to use your drawing on a communication to LLBean employees in Distribution and Returns. This would only be for an internal audience and not for any public/profit purposes. Might I use the drawing?

Wonderful sketch! This is so much better than a photo!
