Peep Peep

Easter is on the way and the stores have been filled with candy for weeks. My children are grown with children of their own but for me these classics have memories attached to each sticky mouthful of fluff.
Inspired by Kate's (Cathy Johnson) post of peeps, I had to buy some and try my hand at these perennial favorites.

Oh boy, I used to love love love Peeps! Mom made us Easter baskets all through high school, and she would always include Peeps the way I liked them best, opened up and a little dried out so they were chewy. Your painting made me smile!

Great job showing the peeps in cellophane wrappings! When I sketched peeps 2 years ago, EDM members from outside the US were bewildered!

Is it really Easter this coming Sunday? Wow....I work all weekend so it's just another day that will come and go...like today. St. Patrick's day. Peeps are too sweet but they are adorable to look at. I love how bright and cherry yours turned out!!! Happy Bunny Day!

The colors are beautiful. And the plastic wrap is very convincing. Great job.

Sandy, I LOVE this! You captured the essence of marshmallow and cellophane so perfectly---and the yellow/purple complementarity is stunning.

Well Done! the cellophane wrap is great! I'm kind of getting a toothache though.... you couldn't pay me to eat a peep... but your drawing remains great!
