More EDM 180 Favorite color

Ok, I love lime, so I practiced some limes - arranged in a wire basket with my life long favorite color Blue - I scanned the before and after, not sure about my choices and would appreciate comments/suggestions. I really love the lime and blue combo normally, but this sort of washes out my limes?? And yet it needed something!! The wire basket was FUN but my masking fluid was hopelessly clogged and I used my white candle (ala Kate Johnson) She has better luck with that than I did - but then again a brush is a magic wand in her hand :-) So let me know what You would have done, I just may give my Lime color one more go around this hot steamy weekend.

I think the blue does detract a bit from the lime, so maybe a more greyish background next time? Either way, I still like the colours... the blue, the greens- it's all good :)

individually I love the colors, your lmes and the one lemon are really lovely! the wire basket is too I have never used masking fluid on my paintings though I do understand their uses. I'll have to try the candle some time too. HUm... I think that Rachel has a good suggestion maybe a toned down grey is background (possibly a bit more to the grey with a hint of red the complementary to the green?) I love both. The plain and the blue. Wanna try some gradation in the blue next time? Maybe a hint of yellow in the top right corner and a heavier colour at the bottom/shadow area? It's all good no matter what you choose.

Miranda from EDM group: I personally like the one with blue background, I think it makes the lime colors more outstanding. Anyway, I've heard many says beauty is in the eyes of beholder, I think this statement can also apply to any form of art :)

I like both too, and like Miranda I even prefer the one with blue. It's beautiful, and the colors are very intense and fresh!

Sandy I think you did a FABULOUS job on the limes and the wirebasket!!! I too enjoy my masquepen!!! I happen to like the blue behind this -- I think it accents both the yellow and green of the fruit!! Super work!

Thanks to all - Good advice and I appreciate the compliments - my - masque pen won't flow - so the whites are unruley - I llove these colors but perhaps a graded wash or toned down would be a wise change. Thank you all so much!

You have received some great advice Sandy and I know you will try it again. You are the PR person for lime green :)

I have that same basket, which I painted last june (on blog). I just used masking fluid from the jar and never tried the masque pen. I might get one. Do you like it or does it always clog?
