Pair of Plums

Plums are fun to paint, it took me a while to get the shades I wanted, then build it up with a couple of glazes. I was tempted to make them both very black purple but decided to stop here. I was inspired by the post from Jane's post (of Janeville) http://www.flickr.com/photos/71309146@N00/2695918128/ EDM is such a fountain of inspiration.

Plums ARE gorgeous, aren't they? They come in so many colors and sizes and, oh, yes, they are delicious, too!
Very pretty sketch, Sandy.

ummmmmm, good! That's what my Gracie would say! I love the colors you achieved here! The sketch was drawn with my finger right on the screen using a free ap called Scribble. It's super simple to use and lots of fun!

Hi Sandy,
What a delightful and creative blog. Love those grandkid pix too. They are precious! We have triplets but a bit older than your twins. Keep painting. I'll be back often.

Just found your blog, love the artwork. Enjoyed your Chester post. My mother once lived for a few years in Deep River! Very pretty area.

Oh, I haven't dropped by here in much too long! What wonderful artwork you've done lately. These plums, though -- they just take the prize. Great use of color and value!

These plums are really outstanding; I'd never describe them as "fun" to paint myself--I can never the darkness or the color right! And that milky sheen ... In all honesty, these are superb!!
