EDM 262 Shower

With the flooding rains this week I could not help but correlate to this week's challenge. I love a nice hot shower but what's happening outside in the freezing cold is the pits!

Signs of renewal

Just when I needed a sign, there they were, two beautiful geese flying right over my head, heading north - A renewal is on the way.

Whistler

The Olympics have brought Vancouver BC into the lime light and it is a beautiful, intriguing land. I have a nephew in college at UBC and I can understand a great deal of the appeal .

Apparently the area does have a lot of rain and fog, which is why the Whistler Mountain was originally names London Mountain.

EDM 261 Olympics

This was a fun challenge to work on as I watched competition. The medal is rather difficult to portray . I want to try this again with a looser approach (my life long effort to loosen up- humm this relates to all of my life lately)

EDM 260 Suitcase

I have long admired this luggage in the Orvis catalog - something earthy about the leather and waxed canvas. Seemed to fit the challenge.

Finally Home

Health wise it has been a difficult month for this family - at least one issue is finally over.

Waiting

The lab was full of "waiters" so lots of sketching potential - and the wait was Long. They just don't seem to move very fast in the mornings. This came out better than I thought when I began, of course I was too intimidated to use pen but there was very little erasing ;-)

A Winter's Walk

Even a winter's walk can reveal surprises. There was little snow at that date and the small marsh was unfrozen - can't imagine there was much to eat though. I started this sketch immediately, but forgot to finish. I certainly need practice with on-site looseness!

EDM 258 Closet

A bit late on this challenge, and mostly because I did not want to stare into any of my closets for any length of time. Winter is a good time to clean out clutter, but I just have not found the energy ! Consequently - this was done VERY fast :-) I like loose splashy watercolors, and this was a time step forward for me to work quickly.
