Ah summer, hard to pick just one thing that brings summer to mind. I started with watermelon, a special summer treat to be eaten outside. Which reminds me of the picnic table, which reminded me of summer vacations along the coast of Maine, which reminded me of cozy campfires. So there you have my evolution - which is exactly the order in which I sketched and painted.

Perfect!
Wonderful!!
Super. The best watermelon in camp! This has a great feeling of summer. I love how you had a touch of penwork with the watercolor - not too much. That's something I need to learn. You made a great page bringing your memories to life.
What a perfect painting. It IS summer with that tent and watermelon! Just great Sandy.
