DC Row Houses

As we toured DC into Georgetown the gorgeous row houses appeared, including the famous purple house, just 6 feet wide!! (and just sold for $600,000) So quaint and charming and colorful. We strolled M street and I captured this snippet of row houses/shops - quite an exercise in perspective.

Sandy,

What a fabulous painting - love the fact that you painted the houses and left the cars and trees unpainted. My son lives in DC in a row house - I'll need to see what I can do with his block sometime.

These are fabulous, Sandy!! Reminds me of Rainbow Row in Charleston! I love your keeping only the outline of the cars -- really focuses your attention on the houses!! SUPER!

What a nice job of the row houses! I've never seen them, but you've made them appear charming and appealing. I agree with Lin, I like just having the outline of the cars without the distraction of painting them, too.

I saw this spread on Flick and just had to read your blog! This is so awesome Sandy! It's so complex, but with a taste of simplicity! Awesome!

Your trip sketches are always so wonderful, Sandy---and this is no exception. I know this part of DC very well, because my daughter just graduated from Georgetown University a year ago. You've done a beautiful job of depicting that area.

This is my first viewing of your work and I absolutely love it! What a gift you have to allow others into your inner world through words and art. I recently visited Georgetown for the first time and the row houses were exactly what stuck in my memory. Great drawing! Hope you blog again soon!
