Hard to read my journaling (dang scanner) Just off the town green is a strangely interesting Quonset hut originally used as a storage building, now converted into a cafe. Aptly named Cafe Grounded they serve great breakfast and lunch . The small upstairs loft area uses Airplane seats with tables. In the summer there are tables outside and a nice view of the Congregational Church. Sunday we splurged and I had to have their French Toast using thick home made bread - I also wanted home fries and toasted English muffins being the carb freak that I am. I settled for some bacon.

EDM 215 Plus
Could not resist combining these two. My thumb challenge needed support so I decided to try the Different Strokes From Different Folks bi-weekly challenge. Not happy with the flatness of this sketch but Hey I think my thumb looks real.

Around Town #4
Entry four in my little "around town" series. Here I dug into a bit of history surrounding our lovely town Green. Even though the size has been halved (as our fore fathers divided out space for town needs) it is still Noted as the largest perpetual green in New England. AND, George Washington probably did not sleep here, but we Know he ate and drank and rested here.

EDM 214 - Hobby
Almost 10 years ago I took knitting lessons and found a knitting group that was a Blast (men and women) that took all my time for several years. But - Once I found EDM I had little time for any other Major hobbies.
When I saw wire crocheted jewelry I Had to try it - and very much liked it even though the wire is tough on fingers ;-) In doing this sketch and looking at my bead collection and my gorgeous sparklie necklace, I long to do more - it is addictive. Sketching it, combines the two loves quite nicely.
I have had so many hobbies in the past - I guess I have always needed to create something in some fashion.

Slip slide anyone
As promised here is the other end of the Frenchman's cove pool. The kids really loved the slide, but of course an adult would have to hold them in their lap. The arches replicate remains of a fortress I suspect, they also provide some shade in the pool to protect little white bodies ;-) Cool architectural interest and sketching potential I thought.

Infinity
Gorgeous bodies of water everywhere, salt and chlorinated and spa varieties! The infinity pool has a huge slide on one side ( a future post) and long platforms within the pool to accommodate tots, one can even set a chaise into the first 5 foot wide step and be in only 6" of water. Neat layout for little ones (which we have three ) So this pool was very popular with us. They came to enjoy the beach's waves and shells and sand as well, which is challenging for 2 and 3 year olds.
