EDM 270 Redux

ROCKThe rock walls in my area are often very old relics of poor pilgrim settlers attempting to level ground for planting and corral livestock . I can only imagine the Back Breaking Work performed in this harsh environment. These remaining stone walls are testament to their courage and fortitude, So I decided on the gorgeous Saturday to revisit the "rock" challenge. A bit better than my first attempt I think.

Well it is an attempt, I do not do faces - therefore I cannot do faces - so I just try more faces!! Especially mouths!!! they freak me out ???- and I totally messed up Lovely Jennifer's mouth - open mouths are the hardest of All!!! So hopefully I will see improvement some day.

Inspired by Liz and her quest to lose a few pounds - I tried the same approach yesterday - It does slow me down!

EDM 268 Need

Catching up last night - I used the table scape from our breakfast at Cross Roads Diner (see previous posts). Obviously there are many things I seem to Need - but this one is high up there ;-)

Trip North

Determined to pass the time sketching, I took a small Winsor and Newton sketchbook and one pen on our trip north. It's not easy drawing in a moving car but it was Fun . Once at our destination I added text and a bit of color. It did pass the time, although frustrating to not have more time on any subject.

Then Reverse for return on Sunday ;-)

Waiting for Summer

Last Saturday at the playground I could not help but notice the lonely kayak racks as the Town Beach adjoins the grassy playground area. No action at the beach yet but the scene was serene and sketch worthy.

Wow- this was my first try at 'stamp pad back grounding' - Karen Blados has been doing this in her posts for some time, creating dramatic effects. It was fun, and certainly bold. Now I need to try my gouache on top? The The spring Bee activity at home got me started here.

EDM 267 Flexible

Ok, a strange page - I started with the lovely magnolia blossom at the bottom last Friday, then decided I would do a telephone cord for the flexible challenge (at top), but noted spring blossoms must be flexible to deal with this NE weather - and so my new pansy plant was a obvious addition to flex with the weather. So the cord looks strange in the montage, but this is now my brain works. especially on a Monday after a major, three day eating weekend.

Easter 2010

It has been a glorious three days ~ Perfect weather, and peaceful and loving.

Preschool Day

A gloriously sunny day with three of my grandsons, and time to sit outside and draw! I loved every minute of it.

Cake, Cake Cake

Started this on my Hubby's B-day - finished last night. I am clearly a sugar addict!!

Seems like it will never end, 40 days and 40 nights - ok not quite, but the flooding is historic here in CT/NE. Many roads are blocked and many are flooded and I thank God we do not live next to a body of water (except our pool which is continually pumped down). Funny how many Rain songs are going through my head. Rain drops keep falling on my head Cloudy (my thoughts are gray and wet and cloudy) Stormy Ain't no sunshine (when she's gone) Who'll stop the Rain? I can probably add more later.

Brunch

We split this plate and I had a cup of tea, it is always nice to go out for breakfast.

Dog Daze

Just for fun - I love my dogs! They are getting older ( although they do not seem to know it) I cannot bear the thought of losing them. We have had the invisible fence for over 10 years, rarely do the dogs even need to wear collars, they know their boundaries and stay home!

Spring Ahead

Officially spring Hit on Saturday the 20th, and here in Connecticut it was absolutely glorious - I am ready, bring it ON!
