The corner of Water Street and Whitfield Street, at the south west end of the town "Green". #3 in my around town series. - done quite quickly I am please to say ( pleased just because I did get it done reasonably well)!

EDM 212 Mirror Image

Had to get this one done fast, as we are leaving on vacation Thursday - of course my sun glasses are on the Must Bring list - so I took this opportunity to add them to the mirror image challenge.

VSD February 2009

My Virtual Sketch Date submission, done very quickly last night - We leave on holiday this Thursday so I cannot post on Saturday as the site requests. I contemplated not doing this one at all but know I need practice on landscapes. From this post I am happier that I thought I was last night ;-) Still overworked when viewed in person but I learn with every attempt.

Around Town #2

Continuing my series with interesting points in town. Guilford is very old my American Standards and there is still some architecture that dates back to the early years. It's fun to study them through sketching and looking up history that I have taken for granted the 30+ years we have lived in this quaint town.

Glorious light and Color and the pursuit there of! And, I love using old crocks and such to contain some of it!. Just wanted to sketch something and this was right in front as I 'watched' the tube.

Around Town #1

I have contemplated sketching around town for some time- I always tend to overwork every detail and end up frustrated and disappointed. Danny's recent class posting on natural frames gave me this idea. I had to make myself STOP and overall I am rather pleased with this rendering. It is pretty accurate too ! So this may be a new mini series to introduce you to my town.

Went down to the shore Saturday hoping for a nice quiet time sketching, unfortunately the light was extremely flat. Actually made sketching very easy!

A scene I have wanted to sketch for weeks and this challenge 209 seemed perfect, especially as a thaw is predicted this week so I had to capture it Now.

Searched my surroundings for some color to sketch - this guy filled the bill - he is part of a bucket of toys in my office for the grands when they visit or spend the day in our "apprentice program" :-)

Yes I always feel like a nut - I Love nuts and will search them out and hoard all the chocolate Nut pieces ;-)

The dreaded Valentine's Day is nearing and for some reason I am getting Catalogs full of chocolate confections - the word must be Out!

Or maybe it is Reward for all the Chores I have been chronicling??

Ahh the porcelain city chores, I love a fresh clean cheerful bathroom - but I do not like maintaining them.

Chores - Continues

My first HP scanned entry!! I have been having such problems getting the image AND the journaling clear - even using my MS Digital Image Pro software. So, this post continues my ongoing Chores theme. I do believe it is clearer and sharper. Funny, this was far more of a challenge than expected so I opted out of many dishes for the rack when it should have had bowls and a pot or pan. (OOPS- spelled they're wrong on journal page, sorry Mom)
