Wow, what a place, at least the Naples Florida Cheese Cake Factory was awesome and Cheese Cake TOO!

On one drive across state I sketched some items on interest. It did make the 3 hour drive pass quickly (no I was not driving too).

Florida Fun Part 1

Each year we head to Fort Myers with a few friends as an annual rite of passage to support our Boston Red Sox team. This due to some health issues it was in jeopardy but luckily we could still make this trip-

A car is essential for getting around, a new vehicle is always an adventure, this one was a totally new experience. The lights even dimmed automatically. Our hotel overlooked Sanibel Harbor and it was magnificent with huge patio doors opening fully to enjoy the view. Unfortunately the first 2 days were rainy, but the skies were fascinating to watch.

Encounter of the Red kind

An encounter last week left me with a beautiful picture in my mind. Not more than 5 feet from my view through the window I was blessed with a good 10 minutes watching this lovely female cardinal as she viewed the landscape (and me) It was a lovely 10 minutes. I hope she decides to nest here.

Montage

Many talented artists create interesting montages of their day/week/trip. I struggle way to much on placement and looseness but, practice is always key to improvement. This was my yesterday, I sketched periodically through out, added color, detail and text by the end of the day. Not as bad as I originally thought , but that green of the pepper is WAY overworked, and why is that crayon piercing my dinner?? :-)

EDM 262 Shower

With the flooding rains this week I could not help but correlate to this week's challenge. I love a nice hot shower but what's happening outside in the freezing cold is the pits!

Just when I needed a sign, there they were, two beautiful geese flying right over my head, heading north - A renewal is on the way.

Whistler

The Olympics have brought Vancouver BC into the lime light and it is a beautiful, intriguing land. I have a nephew in college at UBC and I can understand a great deal of the appeal .

Apparently the area does have a lot of rain and fog, which is why the Whistler Mountain was originally names London Mountain.

EDM 261 Olympics

This was a fun challenge to work on as I watched competition. The medal is rather difficult to portray . I want to try this again with a looser approach (my life long effort to loosen up- humm this relates to all of my life lately)

EDM 260 Suitcase

I have long admired this luggage in the Orvis catalog - something earthy about the leather and waxed canvas. Seemed to fit the challenge.

Finally Home

Health wise it has been a difficult month for this family - at least one issue is finally over.

EDM 259 Pet's view

Lets face it, my dogs only have eyes for treats and of late these Beggin Strips Rule their lives. They do look good!
